What Happens in a YCCG Class?

Expect a 90 minute class with discussion and snacks (for those who would like to participate) followed by slow-moving, trauma-informed, gentle yoga.

Who is a Caregiver? 

A caregiver is anyone whose life has been impacted by caring for another. This can mean caring for an aging parent, a child that just won't sleep through the night, a sibling with special needs, a friend with mental illness, or a pet with physical illness. This can also mean working in a care-based profession, such as a therapist, doctor, or social worker.

There is no one way to be a caregiver, and your experience is valid. If you feel called to join Yoga Care for Caregivers, we will be happy to support you no matter the circumstances.

Meet the Founder

Hello! I'm Cathrine Goldstein (E-RYT© 500, YACEP, Y12SR), a best-selling wellness writer, professional Dharma Coach, and the founder of Yoga Care for Caregivers. I am also a wife, mother, seeker, teacher, author, guide, and caregiver.

For the longest time I struggled as a caregiver—feeling alone, lost, confused, believing that no one else could understand the demands put on me: the time I needed to give, the exhaustion I felt fighting a daily uphill battle with no chance of a positive outcome. So, I swallowed my stress and ignored my own cries for help until a debilitating case of Shingles left me in immense pain and (permanently) scarred. But despite even this, I kept going… because caregivers can’t stop, right? I felt so sad and so isolated, that when I finally collapsed into my bed, I would scroll through my phone looking for any place I could go for connection. Someplace where someone else would understand. But, I found nothing.

This is what led me to create Yoga Care for Caregivers. In this safe environment, we hold space for one another. This is a place where we can speak, move, bond, and ultimately feel less alone. This isn’t a yoga class, although we practice gentle yoga poses for those who would like to participate. This is a community of likeminded people, brought together by their commitment to those they care for.

So, whether you are now or have been a caregiver, this is your place. 

Remember, YOU matter, too.
